The route includes some uphill and downhill sections that may be challenging. The mule track is sometimes uneven and rocky, so I recommend this hike only for those with adequate physical preparation. In the warmer months, I recommend starting early in the morning or at sunset to enjoy cooler temperatures and breathtaking views in peace.
The tour can end in Nocelle, from where you can easily return to Positano by a prearranged transfer or local bus. Alternatively, you can continue down a long staircase leading directly to the town.
If you prefer to start the hike from Nocelle (Positano), you can follow the trail toward Bomerano or Praiano, creating a loop that brings you back to your starting point. Another option is to begin in Praiano, but be prepared for a long uphill staircase.
