Among the most famous trails in Italy, the Path of the Gods is the ultimate experience of the Amalfi Coast. An ancient mule track that winds through vineyards, rock cliffs, forests, and Mediterranean vegetation, suspended between land and the breathtaking panorama of the sea. Every corner offers a unique view, a constantly changing picture to discover.

During this fascinating walk, I will guide you through the history of this vertical landscape, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997. I’ll share coastal traditions related to the use of local plants and herbs and reveal the myth that inspired the name of this legendary trail.

Despite the growing popularity of the route, this area still offers a peaceful atmosphere and a step back in time, where shepherds with goats and donkeys cross paths, and ancient abandoned houses tell the story of small industries that once thrived here. The trail, which starts in Bomerano and ends in Nocelle, is mostly downhill but includes some uphill sections that can be challenging.

The mule track is sometimes uneven and rocky, so I recommend this hike only for those with adequate physical preparation. It’s not suitable for those with knee problems, vertigo, or heart conditions. For more information, feel free to contact me privately.

In the warmer months, I recommend starting the hike early in the morning or at sunset to enjoy cooler temperatures and breathtaking views in peace.

The tour can end in Nocelle, from where you can easily return to Positano by a prearranged transfer or local bus. Alternatively, you can continue down a long staircase leading directly to the town.

If you prefer to start the hike from Nocelle (Positano), you can follow the trail toward Bomerano or Praiano, creating a loop that brings you back to your starting point. Another option is to begin in Praiano, but be prepared for a long uphill staircase.
