If you’re curious about the centuries-old tradition of coastal lemon farming, this is the trail for you. Known today as the Lemon Path, this trail was for centuries the only communication route between the picturesque villages of Maiori and Minori. A walk that tells tales of hard work and passion, where the “Furmechelle” (little ants), brave women who carried heavy baskets of lemons, walked these paths to transport the precious Sfusato Amalfitano lemons from Tramonti to the sea.

Our tour starts in the heart of Maiori, where I’ll reveal the fascinating history of this coastal village. We’ll begin our ascent along the ancient stairs, with breathtaking views of the coast unfolding before you. Each step will immerse you in the history and culture of this land, which can be considered a true open-air museum.

During the walk, you’ll have the opportunity to stop for a delicious tasting or visit a lemon grove where you’ll see firsthand the lemon farming process, guided by one of the local producers who still uphold this heroic tradition. (A small additional fee will be required for the visit to the lemon grove.)

Upon reaching Minori, you’ll immediately understand why this charming village is nicknamed the “City of Taste.” You can conclude the tour with a stop at a renowned local pastry shop to taste one of the famous lemon delights, or, if you prefer a historical immersion, I’ll guide you to the ruins of a Roman Villa, where you can explore one of the most fascinating and historic corners of the Amalfi Coast.

Although the tour is considered easy, there are some stairs and slight elevation changes, so the path is not entirely flat.

Practical Tip – Bring a swimsuit and towel for a refreshing swim at the end of the excursion.

The tour is especially ideal in the afternoon, especially during warmer periods, to enjoy the cool breeze and the landscape.
